more results

finished doing energizer, the third set of batteries took 491 photos.
i also did the home brand Franklins No Frills batteries, they were heaps good LOL jks they took zero, one, and six photos. no wonder they cost $1.50 for a packet of 4 when the others were about $6. it was funny. as soon as i turned it on the low battery light flashed, and the first time as soon as i pressed the shutter button it turned off. same pretty much for the other 2 pairs. what a waste.
but it was good because the other batteries were taking like 500 photos and it took aaaages to do. so it was good that the no frills was over in about 5 minutes.
im not really sure about putting any photos on my blog... it seems pretty stupid to take photos of me taking photos
or including some of the photos i took of the side of my leg or of my sister. ill see...
also i was going to compare the chemical compositions but they don't have anything on the label other than 'no mercury included.' good to know mate (y) doesn't help me though.
so im relying on my results being conclusive because i have no idea what the difference is between the batteries other than the brand.
laters...

second round energizer

took 469 photos
going to record on here while my laptops at school.. :)

good evening ladies

did my first two rounds of photos,
first lot of energizer batteries took 488 photos, waiting to upload and count the second lot. need to go out and buy the others. i wonder how much that will cost?
kinda freaking out now, i realised my intro has to be 1 page. it's currently just less than half. and yeah.
should be good though. im used to leaving stuff til last minute.
i think im going to hand it in a day early though. knowing me ill forget i have to do it before school on thursday and then im screwed. i need all the marks i can get.

risk assessment

i was thinking about a risk assessment the other week.. do i need one?
i can't really see any risks though unless i eat a battery or something or get electrocuted by my laptop when plugging it in.

thus,
there are no risks associated with my experiment as far as i can tell.

method

method for battery testing is as follows:

1. set up appropriate digital camera with two new AA batteries of the same brand.
2. change camera settings to a standard resolution, flash on, automatic photo function.
3. take photos in room with medium light until the battery dies in the camera.
4. upload photos onto computer and see how many photos have been taken in the life span of the batteries.
5. record results.
6. repeat experiment using the following battery brands: Duracell, Eveready and Home Brand.
7. repeat experiment but mix up camera settings eg. flash off, black and white, high or low resolution. note experiment must be completed with same settings using all three battery brands. batteries must always be brand new and of the same brand.

i think that shall be good?
havent got batteries yet, shall try sometime this week :)

I HAVE AN IDEA!!!!

ive finally got one, im not sure how good it is but i think it will do! :)
basically the idea is to test the duracell ads with the cute bunny and see if theyre telling the truth, that is, do duracell batteries really take 2000+ photos as opposed to the typical 80 of a no name brand? if all goes to plan im going to work it out for myself.. :)

basically ill put different batteries in a camera and see how many photos i can take, repeating it three times with three different brands of batteries- energizer, duracell and a home-brand kind. to mix it up, i might try using different cameras doing the same thing to see if/how much the camera varies it. i might even throw some rechargables in there..? or use combinations of the batteries.. mhmmm.
the constant variables (i think thats what they're called?) would be things like the camera, quality settings, whether the flash is on or off, colour & light settings on the camera, brand new batteries etc etc. id only change the brand of battery.
the experiment would need to be repeated a few times, possibly on different camera's as well.

so the independent variable is the camera, and the dependent is the batteries.
i think.

i do believe that is all,
ttfn- ta ta for now :)
